You have found the Home Page for Mark Strube Sailing. These pages will provide you with more information than you ever needed to know about Mark Roger Strube. Although he has been sailing all his life he did not make it his profession until 1997.
Following graduation Mark attended the University of Miami in Florida where he earned a Masters Degree in Business Management. After working for a discount stock broker in West Palm Beach for several years he left the boiler room cubical life and became the Sailing Instructor of Palm Beach Sailing Club. This position lead to many contacts in the world of national, international and professional sailing. After several years as a sailing instructor Mark became a professional sailor. Mark has participated in the past three America’s Cups as a grinder for various challengers. He sails professionally in small, medium, large and maxi racing events. Mark has competed over the years for the top position on the US Sailing Team in the Star Class. The top American sailors will be sent to the 2012 London Olympics. Mark and George Szabo are currently ranked second in the Star Class by US Sailing and ranked sixth in the world by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF). The last two major regattas will determine our American Olympic Sailing Teams. These events will be held in Weymouth, UK and Perth, Australia. The voyage to the Olympics is long, difficult and expensive. US Sailing provides some support however the bulk of the cost is paid by our athletes. The American Sailing Teams depend on part-time work and contributions from folks like you to finance their efforts. If you have the means, please consider making a small nondeductible contribution to the Olympic Campaign of Mark Strube and George Szabo through Pay Pal Larger donations may be tax deductible by writing a check to the Sailing foundation of New York.
